Travel Fellowship

The 2023 FYH Travel Fellowship application deadline has passed. We are no longer accepting applications.

 

Fellowship Details

Prospective students with demonstrated financial need who are interested in attending both the Open House and the Find Yourself Here (FYH) Program are encouraged to apply for the FYH Travel Fellowship. 
 
Recipients of the FYH Travel Fellowship will receive:
  • Domestic round-trip airfare to and from Boston, MA, from October 26-28, 2023*
  • Two night's lodging in Cambridge, MA, on the evenings of October 26 and 27, 2023*

Please note that the fellowship will not cover the expenses of ground transportation, meals, or any other expenses incurred while traveling. 

*All booking will be done through Student Universe. HGSE will NOT reimburse for expenses incurred outside of our specific booking guidelines. If you have questions about these details, please email gseadmissions@harvard.edu.

Application Information

The application deadline (September 29, 2023) has passed.

Applicants will be asked to provide the following via the online application:

  • Completed online application form
  • Statement of Interest (650 words)

    • Prompt: The mission of the Harvard Graduate School of Education is to prepare education leaders and innovators who will change the world by expanding opportunities and outcomes for learners everywhere. Please tell us about your interest in and commitment to expanding opportunities in the field of education and how you see yourself contributing to the vibrant HGSE community.

  • One letter of reference
  • Post-secondary academic transcripts (unofficial or copies accepted)

The deadline to apply for the Find Yourself Here Program Travel Fellowship for fall 2023 was September 29, 2023.

Additional Information

At this time, FYH Travel Fellowship awards are available only for individuals interested in our residential degree programs. We expect fellowship recipients to attend both our Open House and Find Yourself Here program, and our Open House agenda will not include programming related to our Online Master's in Education Leadership (OEL) program. Students interested in OEL are still welcome to attend FYH and should also review the many virtual recruitment events, both general and OEL-specific, we will be offering this fall.
